KYDZTuff™ Finish

For instance, the attractive Birch line features a unique new ultraviolet acrylic urethane KYDZTuff™ finish. This smooth finish is as strong and durable as the coating used on gymnasium floors. It won’t yellow, is stain resistant and masks fingerprints. It is also non-toxic and lead-free, making it far safer for the environment than any other finish used today.
KYDZ Strong™ Construction.
Jonti-Craft has always been committed to employing the highest quality construction techniques available. KYDZ Strong™ is a dowel pinning construction technique that launched a new generation of Jonti-Craft quality products. With KYDZ Strong™, the thickness of the panel is left intact where most of the stress occurs, dramatically increasing the already noteworthy strength of the furniture. Jonti-Craft products are KYDZStrong™, always built from the strongest materials available. Rainbow Accents™ furniture is constructed of 5/8"thermo-fused laminate board-the highest quality in existence. All Birch furniture is constructed of eleven ply 5/8" Baltic Birch plywood. Items requiring solid wood are constructed of maple, which is stronger than oak. There are lots of little details that add strength and durability, too. For instance, caster brackets are installed on all mobile units, adding triangular strength to corners where the greatest stress occurs.
KYDZ Safe™ Features.
Jonti-Craft’s trademark safety features include KYDZHinges™– full length piano hinges attached with a minimum of nine screws each – the strongest and safest hinges available. They feature a 270° pivot, making it difficult to separate them from the unit. Ultimately, this minimizes the chance of pinching little fingers. Rounded KYDZ Safe™ edges and corners provide maximum safety for busy children.
